I’ve thoroughly been enjoying the show-stopping displays of all the beautiful flowering perennials this summer. Flowers bring so much joy to our lives and perennials come back year after year. What could be better?
I love new varieties of plants, but after working in Colorado landscapes for over twenty years there’s a special place in my heart and garden for the tried and true– the plants that thrive in Colorado’s amazingly unpredictable climate.
As I drive through areas of Colorado’s Front Range, I’ve noticed some plants that do well in a wide variety of locations, whether they’re tended in a well-loved garden or virtually forgotten next to a fast food drive through.

I’ve love to hear what perennial flowers make your top five list. What’s worked well for you over the months or years? By sharing our knowledge, we’ll all be more successful. Hope you have a wonderful gardening weekend!
I love your recommendations and am ready to head to the nursery to buy several of these perennials (catmint, yarrow, Jupiter’s Beard, day lilies, and salvia). I hope you’ll continue to share your ideas and suggestions. Love your posts.
